Bert Wellman opened Uptown LTD Auto Sales in 1990. Bert's father became involved in the car business in the late 1950's, so some of Bert's earliest memories are hanging out at the dealerships anxiously awaiting the new model year releases. He was born, raised, and still resides in Michigan City and has great love and admiration for his hometown. He graduated from Rogers High School in Michigan City in 1974, and quickly began a life long career in automobiles of his own. Having been in the car business for decades and eventually managing a new car dealership, he became increasingly aware that consumers had very limited options when buying a quality used car. He opened Uptown with the intention of offering affordable, quality, low mileage used vehicles. Today his mission hasn't changed a bit. Quality, late model, low mileage vehicles that give the consumer an alternative to having to purchase a brand new vehicle is his goal.
